I saw a few posts that showed how hornworms can be seen bright as day if you shine a UV flashlight on them at night. So I got myself a big bright 365nm UV light and went to inspect my tomato patch at 1am…boy do things look different under UV in the dark! I thought I’d taken some of that stuff from Alice in Wonderland…
Anyway I poked around and found no sign of any hornworms! This feels like a win. I did however spot a small cluster of cabbage loopers – they also glow! They were not pleased with the situation. Time to get out the Bt I guess. Loving this new garden tool!

This is the way!!!!!!!!!!! I love that you found one! Huge win 👏
On one hand, I find these guys so cool. On the other, I am so very glad they don’t exist here. They are super bright under uv!
He bite.
keep checking. I found them weeks ago, then nothing so quit checking, and they are now back
