Il Ballo del Doge is one of the most prestigious events of the Venice Carnival, bringing together historical tradition, theatrical performances, fine dining, and music in a grand period setting. Designed by Antonia Sautter, the event is known for its detailed recreation of Venetian aristocratic life, requiring full period attire and maintaining a formal, immersive experience for all guests.
What to Expect
From the moment guests arrive, the setting transports them into an authentic 18th-century Venetian atmosphere. The historic Scuola Grande della Misericordia, a 16th-century venue, is transformed into a grand ballroom with candle-lit tables, chandeliers, and elaborate stage designs.
Guests are welcomed with a formal dinner, featuring multiple courses of Venetian cuisine and fine wines. Throughout the evening, there are live opera performances, classical music, dance, and acrobatic displays, all curated to fit the annual theme of the event.

Dress Code & Costume Rental
All guests must wear authentic period costumes, reflecting the style of the Venetian Republic’s golden era. Costumes can be brought from home or rented from specialized ateliers in Venice.

The event offers different ticket categories, depending on the level of exclusivity and services included.
Standard Admission: Starting at €800
Premium Packages: €2,000 – €5,000, including enhanced dining experiences and exclusive seating
After-Party Only Ticket: Limited-access ticket for late arrivals (starting at 23:30)
