I'm using a spooky tree. I want to dry them and then make that vinegar stuff in the jar that looks pretty in a kitchen.

Aww. Now I need a spooky tree. I haven’t dried any yet, but we got a dehydrator for Christmas that we haven’t used yet.

  2. I use a dehydrator that I bought online for like $30. It’s not huge but it is good for my purposes.

That size? Dried whole in a dehydrator at 135 for like 6 hours. If you live in a dry environment like I do, I have been able to dry them on a paper towel at a south facing window. You can also hang them but I have never tried that.

My air fryer has a dehydration function which is just the fan and 30c heat. Works great

Ive had a commercial grade dehydrator (Cabela’s) for years. I can dehydrate large batches at once, and the front door is transparent plexiglass so I can see progress with ease.

I gave up on the Nesco Dehydrators. They work well but I’ve gone through a pile of them, the motors fail on them in time. They’re OK for casual use, but a commercial grade is the way to go if you’re doing volume or for the long run.

I’m going to properly dry some peppers this year, but it’s so dry here last time I just left the whole plant outside and the peppers dried on the stalk lol.

I use a needle to thread them in bunches thru their stems and hang them in my garage. Kinda has a nice aesthetic.

I use a dehydrator . Can use it forever . I splurged on mine but was still only about 120 . Spend what you want but use a dehydrator not your oven !

I never have enough to dry, I use peppers every day, and when you only have 4 plants, you pretty much break even , maybe next year I will plant twice the amount of plants:

I love using my air fryer on dehydrator setting for drying my peppers. I do think it gives the food a little bit of extra spice for a couple of days if you fry something, but that’s the only downside. Pro tip, if you’re going to do this in your house with hot peppers, put the dehydrator in the basement or somewhere where the oil/gases won’t nuke family members.

I like the spooky tree method! I sun dry or New Mexico method of hanging outside or in greenhouse. I did it once in my kitchen until they started crumbling on the floor and our dogs licked up the seeds. Never did that again.
