Looks like I got shroomed all the way out here in western Japan.
Got this mislabeled scotch bonnet seedling from a big box store in Okayama. Hopefully they’re good peppers.

Definitely shroomed. My condolences 🙏

They look like Jamaican mushroom peppers. What an absolute find for a home center. Which one was it? Plant looks great too!
I’m growing some of this variety this year too but they haven’t thrived as much as I would have liked. Survival of the fittest in this year’s summer. I’m in Nagano and it has been as hot as Tokyo.

I’m in Tokyo and I find that any time I try to buy anything other than habanero or jalapeno at any “regular” nursery or garden center it is a total crap-shoot. I got a plant that was supposed to be some sort ghost pepper. As far as I can tell is most likely serrano. I feel like the mystery is half the fun though…

* Is this a shroom version as well? Definitely looks like it, but never seen them purple and thought it was a ornamental species

I don’t think we should be using the term “Shroomed” and “Japan” in the same sentence. Just wrong on so many levels.
