Spent most of my adult life (33 yrs. old) grabbing free grills on craigslist or curbside, cleaning them up and repairing as needed until I found something better. Waffled with buying a traeger and/or blackstone for years now, but very happy to have just rolled this across the street from a neighbors garage sale. It feels like the thing in its simple form done well.

That’s nice! How much did you pay for this?

Nice I just picked one up myself for $150. Except I needed to replace the flavorizors, grill grates, and ignition kit. We’ll worth it tho, as it’s miles nicer than my current Charbroil

I still have my 2008 Genesis and I still use it to this day. All original parts. You got the better stainless steel grates because that grill came standard with cast iron grates. Congrats! Welcome to the club.

Every year, I remove and clean the grates, and removable parts. Degrease everything. Hose everything down, including the propane compartment area. Try to cover your burners with foil, if you can. If not, and they get water inside, just some blow out the water with some compressed air. Reassemble everything, and turn up the heat as high as it can go until all of the moisture and any cleaners are burned off. You’re good to go. 17 years later can’t argue with American Made. Awesome job Weber!!
