From July 27-31, 2025, the Embassy of Italy in Manama held a preview of the Italian Cuisine Week in the World, which will then be implemented in November, with a five-day course on pasta called Pasta from Scratch.

Young Chef Francesca Bottacci taught 30 young Bahrainis the secrets, authenticity and history of five traditional Italian pastas and condiments, recalling the health, culture and innovation inherent in Italian cuisine, themes at the heart of Italian Cuisine Week in the World.

Implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs as part of the Youth City 2030 Festival, the course attracted very strong interest both for the traditional aspects of Italian gastronomic culture and for the sustainability aspects emphasized and, last but not least, for the incredible flavor of the dishes that participants were able to make with their own hands under the guidance of Chef Bottacci.

“Italian cuisine represents a healthy, balanced and sustainable food model,” said Ambassador Catalano, “enriched by innovation and research processes that distinguish the entire food cycle.

The approval of the candidacy of Italian cuisine as Unesco intangible heritage will be one more tile in the incredible mosaic of the taste and tradition of Italian cuisine and all its regional typicalities. It is an immense wealth of knowledge that we have gladly made available to young Bahrainis.”
