I apologize now if this isn't allowed but I'm stumped. I've been searching online trying to identify it correctly and even sizing but I'm coming up empty handed. Hoping that the great people of this sub might help a girl out. Thank you in advance!!!

There’s no identifying a custom grill.
I will say, whoever made that probably either had a contract with a lumber yard, or stole coal out of a steam engine train to keep it lit. Lol
It’s a grill. I doubt it’s a smoker given that there’s no firebox. It might have been purpose built for whole hog smoking, since it’s one giant chamber, but without seeing it open I’d assume it’s a giant grill.
I suspect the line on the left is an attachment for propane as well. More evidence for it being a grill, not a smoker
Don’t lie, this is the reason you bought the house.
Custom built propane fired smoker/grill/whatever. This isn’t any kind of product you’ll find an instruction manual for. If you like BBQ then start using it and figure out what it does. If you don’t then it’s an eyesore and a liability.
It would help to see pictures of the inside to understand how the burner(s) are setup.
Going to need more pics! Open it up so we can understand the interior set up, what’s the firebox look like, etc.
Regardless, it looks pretty awesome.
Based on what is in the pics, I’m wondering if it’s a propane burner, likely because it’s not easy to see a firebox or air intake, or if the propane is for starting wood…possibly, given the stacks.
That looks custom made. I’ve never seen that exact design, but the general design is pretty common for serious smokers/grillers. Some pics of the interior would help. The set up looks pretty serious…previous owner definitely spent a good chunk of money on the unit as well as the entire area with the slap and walls. If you don’t think you will use it, I’m sure you can find someone to buy it if it is still in good conditions.
The hose set up on the left is for a propane bottle. Not sure that the entire grill is propane (interior pic would help). It could be dual fuel (one side propane, one side charcoal/wood) or the propane could be used as a starter.
Pics of the inside would help. As someone else said, there is no firebox and there looks like a gas line. Could be a grill. Could be a smoker. Could be both.
This looks like it might be a great candidate to add on a firebox and make it a smoker.
Put a ball valve on the other side so you can just fill the bottom chamber with water versus a water pan. Drippings won’t burn and gunk will drain into a bucket (line with a construction bag and mix with ash and into the trash).
Looks like gas unfortunately.
Propane smoker, I’d weld a firebox to the right side so you could smoke and use propane at the same time like some of the professional pits do.
Absolutely insane, what a unit!
I like the decorative fishies.
It is worth the same as the house
I don’t think I’d ever cook for a big enough group to justify the fuel. Looks impressive.
Lucky you.
Looks like a propane grill/smoker. Stacks are pretty small though.
It’s heaven.
It looks like fun if you ask me…
It’s obviously just scrap metal. I’ll come over and haul it away for free!
In my humble opinion, the House was thrown in on this deal. Nice find.
Where in Texas is this?
We need more pics of inside!
I was on a build once that was like this. It had two racks inside so you could flip a whole hog or we cooked a whole bunch of chickens a few times. Enjoy! I bet you can find some YouTube videos on how to use it!
A bit of a shame that’s not just a big wood smoker. I can’t think of a scenario where it would be preferable for me to have a propane grill of that size.
Hopefully that propane hose isn’t some kind of custom connector because id want to replace that before using that for safety precautions.
Looks like happiness in the back yard to me.
Show us a pic of it open OP!
It’s a gathering place for smoking meat and drinking beers with friends. Fantastic addition to any house!
Someone built this with their own three hands
Where in Eastern NC is this?
