here’s how to freeze your fresh summer basil so that you can enjoy it all year long first we’re going to pick lots of fresh basil leaves my basil was definitely turning a little early this year so it was the perfect time to pick this so we can freeze it next we’re going to chop the basil into fine pieces so that it freezes nicely then we’ll transfer the chopped basil into an ice cube tray try to fill each section as evenly as you can next fill each cube with a good quality extra virgin olive oil this will actually help preserve the fresh basil while it’s frozen then transfer this to the freezer and freeze it overnight so we froze these overnight then just take the cubes right out of the tray and pop them into your favorite soups stews or sauces or even salad dressings then keep these Frozen in a Ziploc bag use them any time of the year the basil will stay fresh all year long

Thank you! I look forward to freezing my basil in olive oil cubes. 😊🪴
Does it need to be washed before?
Can you use something other than an oil?
I just used my last cube frozen at the end of last summer to flavor a burst cherry tomato sauce. It was still full of fresh flavor. I'm going to be freezing basil again this year, just as she demonstrated.
Cool! Thank you! Blessed day please! Love and peace 🙏❤️☮️

Can I use coconut oil?
Do you wash it first
Chopping so with the knife makes it loose a lot of flavor. Try just breaking by hand or use chiffonade cutting method
I've just done this with 2 trays of Thai basil – just can't beat it for an exotic flavour in curries in the winter 🙂
