Tandoori Cheese Chicken Recipe (Air Fryer)

Ingredients:

* Chicken (drumsticks & thighs): 500-600g
* Orika tandoori seasoning: 2-3 tbsp
* Amul cream: 2 tbsp
* Curd (yogurt): 2 tbsp
* Lemon juice: from 2 lemons
* Salt: to taste
* Butter: for brushing
* Grated cheese: for topping

Optional: Egg white (for brushing, as an alternative to butter)

Steps:

* Prepare the Chicken: Make slits in the chicken drumsticks and thighs to allow better marination.
* Season with Salt: Add salt to the chicken and mix well to coat evenly.
* Add Tandoori Seasoning: Sprinkle 2-3 tbsp of Orika tandoori seasoning over the chicken and mix thoroughly.
* Incorporate Lemon Juice: Squeeze the juice of 2 lemons over the chicken and mix well.
* Add Cream and Curd: Add 2 tbsp of Amul cream and 2 tbsp of curd to the chicken. Mix well, ensuring the masala is rubbed into the slits.
* Marinate: Cover and refrigerate the chicken for 4 hours to marinate.
* Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat the air fryer at 180°C (356°F) for 10 minutes.
* Prepare Air Fryer Basket: Brush the base of the air fryer basket with butter to prevent sticking.
* Arrange Chicken: Place the marinated chicken pieces in the air fryer basket. Brush the chicken with butter or egg white for a glossy finish.
* Cook First Half: Set the air fryer to 180°C (356°F) and cook for 15 minutes.
* Add Cheese: After 7 minutes, pause the air fryer (do not pause for more than 1 minute). Brush the half-cooked chicken with butter and sprinkle grated cheese on top.
* Resume Cooking: Resume cooking until the 15-minute timer is complete.
* Check Doneness: Use a toothpick to check if the chicken is cooked through. If not fully cooked, continue cooking in 2-minute intervals, checking each time to avoid overcooking.
* Serve: Once cooked, remove the chicken from the air fryer and serve hot.
