in today’s protein face off we have a sibling rivalry we have the Bella red lentil pasta versus its brother its sister the Bella chickpea pasta which one of these two pastas is better for building muscle and losing weight and getting stronger which one will come out Victorious we find out right now let’s start with price so I walked into Walmart which is where I bought these I found them both on the shelf and what do you know they cost exactly the same thing with tax and rounding up slightly it was about $3 per box each so this first category of price is a wash moving on to the protein per serving category the red lentil pasta checks in at about 29% protein per serving while it’s sibling the chickpea pasta checks in at about 25% protein per serving so there is a distinct advantage to eating the red lentil pasta here and then finally on to The Taste category the ever subjective taste category now if you’re eating these pastas plain if you’re not putting anything on top I believe that the chickpea pasta does taste a little bit better however if you’re like me if you’re like most people out there you’re putting sauce on top you’re putting cheese on top you’re putting pepper on top you’re putting all of the above on top and when you do that that slight taste advantage that the chickpea pasta may have had initially is no longer there it is nominal so I believe that the third category The Taste category is also a push which means we only have to look to one category to find our Victor so if you are looking to build muscle and get stronger and lose weight over time then you need to be eating more red lentil pasta let’s put both of these Foods here on the board
