A new wine bar will soon fill the space at Commonwealth development in Plaza Midwood. This marks the second spot for Postino Wine Cafe, which runs its first Charlotte site at The Bowl at Ballantyne. The brand spans across seven states with 34 locations.
This Plaza Midwood site adds to the Phoenix company’s growing presence in North Carolina. Their Raleigh spot opened first. Now, the wine bar chain spreads its roots from Arizona to Texas, with stops in California, Colorado, Georgia, and Tennessee.
Guests can pick from an array of wines, mixed drinks, and craft beers. Want something without alcohol? They’ve got that too. The kitchen whips up rich shrimp scampi and bubbling mushroom fondue. You’ll also find meat and cheese plates, hot pressed sandwiches, and fresh greens.
The retail section at Commonwealth keeps growing. New food spots like Bartaco and Uchi have signed on. Sweet treats will come from Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, while Sweetgreen brings its fresh bowls to the mix.
The opening date stays under wraps for now. Their first try in Charlotte kicked off last year, bringing wine and bites to Ballantyne’s streets.
Plaza Midwood’s food world keeps getting bigger. Big names and small local kitchens have picked this spot to set up shop since 2022. The mix brings new flavors to this old Charlotte neighborhood.
