Hi,

First time pepper grower! These are apparently ghost peppers (they don't look like the ones I've googled though!) And I was wondering when I should harvest?

Any advice happily received!

That’s not a ghost, that looks like cayenne and they are pretty much ‘ready’ when they’re that deep red color. But you can eat ’em green, they’ll just have a different flavor profile. They are certainly not a jolokia pepper or any variety of capsicum chinese.

Cayennes don’t grow upright. Those look like some kind of Thai peppers. Definitely not Ghosts though.

Thanks all – even as a first timer I was pretty sure they aren’t ghosts!

    Thank you!

They look like Santaka peppers to me.

Edit: they’re ready to harvest when red like that.

Ghosts are short wrinkly pepper, they smell very fruity. They also grow downward.

Looks like Thai chiles. Not Ghosts, but still a very good pepper! They ripen to red, so most of those are ready to pick.

Take those pick up 2 blocks of cream cheese warm it up chop remove seeds and the white inside the pepper. Chop 3 cloves of garlic fry peppers and garlic in a pan. Add to cream cheese blend and toss in the fridge. Be ready for some amazing cream cheese. I have been making cream cheese like this with green jalapeños and it’s amazing
