In Tuscany for a few days. This is the corner store selection.
Small town. Small grocery store. No idea what I'm looking at but the prices are good!
Any suggestions?

Not Tuscan but seeing Feudi di San Gregorio Falanghina for under 10€ makes me incredibly jealous.

Brunello for €25 is amazing

I vote it’s all good.
I was in staying in near Barolo and went to the grocery store for food and wine. I almost went to a separate liquor store/wine store because all the bottles were cheap compared to what I’m accustomed to in the US. Its important to leave your biases behind. I got the 6 dollar bottle. Get the 6 dollar bottle. It’ll surprise you.

Most are mega commercial and very mediocre wines that you can buy in any supermarket or dodgy night shop anywhere in Italy, or Europe even.
Do yourself a favour when you’re in Tuscany, Google wineries close to you and stop there to buy yourself some wines.

San Gregorio for that price point is just absurd.

This looks like my shelves in a Midwest wine store. I think I carry almost every single producer pictured.
I find that disappointing.

Peppoli is tight. Peppoli is tight.

Can confirm. Wine there is cheaper than water. Envious.
The cheap stuff is also likely better than most of what we’d find back here in the states

These are all pretty mid and not difficult to find outside of Italy. Try a salumeria or better yet go to a decent enough rustic restaurant and chat wine with someone working in there. But from experience, Italians generally don’t care for the fancy stuff.
