It’s not the end of the world, it’s just Parmageddon.
The long-standing Columbus butcher shop and grocer Carfagna’s has announced a new, weekend-long cheese event with a surprisingly brutal name. Parmageddon will take place June 20-22 at Carfagna’s Italian Market, which is located at 1440 Gemini Pl.
The event, billed as “the biggest cheese party this side of Italia,” will feature an “altar of cheese” created from all of Carfagna’s Parmesan and Grana style cheeses.

At 2 p.m. on June. 21, Carfagna’s will officially open a new wheel of Parmigiano Reggiano di Montagna, a speciality cheese that can “only be certified at a certain altitude where the grasses are different than the ones in the lowlands that the cows are grazing on,” according to Carfagna’s.
The event will include special cheese-based dishes, like cacio e pepe crafted inside of a giant wheel of cheese, Parmesan gelato and much more.
