When it’s hot outside, you often want to find side dishes where you don’t have to heat up your kitchen or this classic tomato cucumber salad hits the spot. I use Italian dresser instead of vinegar and it provides such a delicious flavor you guys give it a try. Let me know what you think. Do you like cucumber tomato salad? Because I certainly do.

You know, it’s funny what kind of foods you love as an adult but hate it as a child. Tomato cucumber salad is one of them for me. This is fire though. All right, guys. So, for our ingredients, very, very simple. We have some vine ripened tomatoes, some mini cucumbers. I’m going to be using a red onion. We have some Italian dressing, sea salt, and black pepper. I don’t like vinegar, so I’m not going to be using vinegar. My grandmother used to make it easy. So, as far as the cutting is concerned, since these are mini cucumbers, I’m going to be making sure I cut these on a bias because you do want, you know, to have a nice substantial piece when you’re eating it. So, we’re going to cut these on a bias. And I would say about uh 316 of an inch like that. And as far as our tomatoes, you can kind of cut them however you want, but I’m just going to cut them in half. And then from the half, we’re going to cut these down in about the same thickness as we did the cucumber. So that’s what we’ll have uh for our tomatoes. So let me finish getting these cut up and then we’ll go ahead and get our onions and just put it together. This is simple, super simple, but it makes a great side dish, especially when it’s hot outside. You fry up some fish or some chicken or whatever, have this on the side, you’ll be good to go. So all right, family. So, we’ve got our tomatoes, cucumber, and red onion all chopped up. Now, when you’re assembling this, you kind of want to layer everything. So, you’ll go tomato, cucumber, onion, tomato, cucumber, onion, and just put it into your dish that way. Now, you just want to put a little bit of salt on top. That’s going to kind of help bring out the flavors in your veggies. A little black pepper. Now, you can give everything a little mix here if you want to. as well. If you also want to kick it up a little notch, you could add some uh crushed red pepper in there as well um for a nice little kick of heat. Now, we’re going to go in with our Italian dressing. Make sure you mix it up really with the oil. Again, you could use vinegar. Now, if you use vinegar, it’s going to be even more healthy because vinegar essentially has absolutely no stats as far as, you know, fat and things of that nature. Your um Italian dressing does, but it’s not going to kill you. It’s still going to turn out really, really well. So, after you get everything assembled like this, what you want to do is just let it sit up for about an hour to everything can mel together. Once it’s done, you’ll be ready to go. Again, you can serve this with as a side dish. You can eat it as a salad, little fried fish, a little fried chicken, or whatever you got going on. And boom, you’re ready to rock. So, here it is.   1. I don't understand why this is considered a 'recipe'. It's just sliced vegetables with bottled Italian dressing. It's not like he made the dressing from scratch!
