Take a look inside Georgies Bar in Asbury Park, NJ, named one of USA TODAY’s best bars for 2025.

Thousands of folks seeking food, fun and powdered sugar-coated zeppole will flock to Ocean Township this week for the 49th Anniversary IAATO Italian Festival.

The Italian American Association of the Township of Ocean is hosting the festival through Sunday at Joe Palaia Park, Dow Avenue and Whalepond Road in the Oakhurst section.

Festivalgoers can expect live music, authentic Italian food, cooking demonstrations, eating contests, carnival rides, games, prizes, raffles, and fireworks on Friday night.

The food will come from more than two dozen vendors and restaurants, including The Gallery Pizza & Eatery, Hoagitos, Twisted Steaks, Tony’s Italian, The WindMill, The Little Sicilian, Sweet Pepper Empanadas, Tic Taco Taqueria, Rosa’s Kitchen, Big L’s BBQ on Wheels and Falco’s Catering.

Members of the association will serve meatballs, sausages, pastries and zeppole.

The fest is a fundraiser for the association, which has hundreds of members dedicated to fostering the Italian-American heritage and culture. Last year, the IAATO donated more than $100,000 in scholarships and funding for children’s sports and community events, according to the organization’s website.

The festival takes place from 4 to 11 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, and 4 to 10 p.m. Sunday. There is no charge for admission.
