Looks like a toddler left a mess.
I keep hearing about Alinea, they don’t appear to have any plates and seem to be focused more on Instagram food pics than making actual food. The more I see of that 5 star shit show the more I would have to be paid to attempt to eat there.

If I served this to guests at my house, it would be trashy. At a Michelin-started restaurant, it’s fine dining. Make it make sense! 😩
