Everything was delicious! The lox plate hit the spot, and the classic breakfast with avocado instead of sausage was perfect. Don’t skip the blueberry lemon roll!

The plate in the second pic cost $18? Yikes

  2. miscinterest

Looks delicious, but I think I’d still be hungry after eating a $20 dish there

  3. ThatFoxyThing

Excuse me … $18 for a small scrambled egg, toast and potatoes!?

  4. DiligentClass1625

Drip costs 10 cents to make at home that’s wild

  5. Since your account is primarily about referrals, is there any quid pro quo between you and Paperboy? No gotchas, just an honest question.

  6. Their lox plate and pancakes are fantastic every time

I went to Paperboy and I agree that the food is quality. But honestly the parking and the price just turned me off. If I have to pay $15 or $20 for a quality pancake or a good American breakfast. I’d rather just make it at home and not go out.

Waiting for people to realize restaurant brunch is the most overrated thing on the planet. I tried to go to paperboy and was turned off by the never available reservations and long lines. It’s giving influencer

Damn the eggs look rubbery still 😬 mine were rubbery when I went

Glad you enjoyed it but my partner and I went a few weeks ago and were supremely unimpressed. Would not recommend. With so many incredible restaurants in town, I’m surprised at the lack of a great brunch spot.

I drive by this place and see the line of people outside waiting in 90 degrees blazing sun, immediately nope the fuck out, and eat at quickie-pickie across the street for 1/2 the cost and 1/10 the hassle.

  12. So this is what everyone is losing their mind’s over? Hmmm. I mean I love a good potato wedge. Every time I’ve attempted to go and call to ask how long the wait is, it’s like 2 hours. Their online reservations for weekend brunch (the only time I can do brunch) are booked out for weeks and then it’s like super fuckin early or on the patio in the heat 😂. I’m not making a reservation 3 months in advance for this shit. I will never get to try these magnificent potatoes. Arby’s curly fries it is 😂

Looks not much better than Waffle House. Those prices are a rip off.

  14. No_Ticket_3132

People are upset about the cost of food, but their food is fantastic!

This looks poorly made, dry, and overcooked….AND you’re getting a referral kickback? Lame.

??? Should breakfast food cost this much? That’s a bit ridiculous.

  17. ponkyball

The classic breakfast looks ok because I like classic breakfast, but for $18 all they gave you was one small sliver of avocado to sub for the sausage? That’s kind of lame AF. I sub meat out all the time for stuff but this is laughable. Did they also give you 4 piece of toast (really 2 cut in half) for the classic like they did for the lox plage? Hope so. The scrambled eggs look ok but there are better ways to make them, that looks like a folded over omelette, which would be fine…if it was an omelette.

  18. 18$ is fukin stupid for a breakfast like that. idgaf what kind of chicken laid that egg. These restaurants have no fkn shame. This is exactly what Bourdain was talking about in his chapter “The Rich eat differently than you and me”. the places will wow you with the illusion of exclusivity or quality but are really just robbing you.

  19. also this isn’t a food review it’s a financial flex. i bet all the food fkn sucked compared to a decent Dennys.

  20. TheLadyEve

I’m sorry, but that better be the best damn chicken biscuit and gravy ever for $20.

  21. i-am-from-la

This is new york prices, incredible what people are willing to spend on mediocre food.

  22. MordantWastrel

My wife worked there a while back and we would go a lot since an employee discount cures the biggest obstacle!

But we still go a couple times a year and are going Monday, in fact. It is expensive. I don’t understand paying that for a classic breakfast. But i cant make their chicken and biscuits or their pancakes or their pastries or even their coffee at the level that they do. And i live 20 minutes away now.

I’ve never understood the hype around this place. The food was… fine? But there are a million great diners and breakfast spots in Austin serving up heartier portions of equally tasty food for a fraction of the price. Is this place just influencer nonsense I’m too old to understand? They can charge 50% more because the toast is stood up vertically on the plate and makes for a pretty picture? I don’t get it.
