I’ve got an espresso machine with a milk frother and every time I use it, it seems to burn onto the bottom.

If I don’t clean it every time with a light scouring pad, it burns on more…

Any advice? I fear it’s an anti stick surface that is being scratched every time I clean it but it just seems to dumb… aside from that I like the machine.

One photo is after using and one is after cleaning. Thanks

Yeah, you need to at least give it a rinse immediately after using.

Maybe it’s just me but the anti-stick coating looks damaged already. I can see scratch marks on the bottom.

I use a soft sponge to clean my Aeroccino 4. I normally use a non-abrasive scotch brite pad for my non stick pans but I don’t trust it with these frothers. I also rinse the Aeroccino with cold water asap after use to cool it down.

That happened to mine and I ended up buying a new one. Now I make sure I clean any residue after each use instead of just rinsing w soap/water.

That’s how the aeroccino is designed to function. You can replace the vessle with another Aero3 body when you have scrubbed the coating off this one. It will do the same thing.

After having two of these that left the same burnt residue, I ended up just purchasing a non-Nespresso one. I asked a Nespresso employee about why it keeps burning, and they didn’t have an answer for me outside of being a known issue, and it doesn’t seem like Nespresso cares or wants to do anything about it.

I use a non-stick safe sponge with scrubber, and I make sure it’s got nothing sticking to any surface. The fact that I can see all that burned on residue after it’s been cleaned is why it keeps burning.

We have a cheap one at work that scorches. We run water only in it on warm for a cycle before adding dairy. At home I use a stainless steel Instant Pot one that can also go in the dishwasher.

After use I always put in water and spin that, then clean before next use. Essentially I always have water in it to soften the milk that has stuck to it between coffees I rinse with cold water as well to avoid excess build up, to clean I use a brush with firm bristles and then a cloth never anything abrasive. If I was to get it burnt on like this I’d recommend soaking with water for at least 12 hours then scrape with something non abrasive.

The only time I had this happened was when I added a sugary creamer to my milk.

I assume you’re just using regular milk. Maybe try 2%?

Make sure you’re not using any metal utensils to get your foam out. Also- I find full fat milks work best, if you use non-dairy, 1% or 2% it’s way more likely to burn. I also purchased a rubber brush just for cleaning my aerochinno

We rinse ours with hot water and dry after each use. Then clean with soap and water every few days.

I’m so glad I’m not the only one this happens to.

We’re using oat milk and it happens maybe 75% of the time.

This happened to me with the aeroccino 3 so I got an aeroccino 4 (the one with the handle) and it didn’t happen as much. If you use whole milk (I do) it burns the milk fats at the bottom. You just have to wash it after every use with warm soapy water. Even if you rinse it, you’re not getting all the milk residue off, so next time you use it, it’ll just burn more. Give it a good thorough washing, and just keep up on it so it doesn’t keep burning like that.

This is why for my second machine I got an Atelier. When I went to buy it I complained about having had this issue with my original machine and asked if they’d fixed it for newer models and was told it was a known issue that was still occurring??? That is insane to me.

Those tend to singe a bit in that spot. Rinsing out right away helps, but it isn’t perfect. A soft sponge and some soapy water should though. The enamel of the Aeroccino 4 does a bit better than the Teflon in the 1 does, and being dishwasher safe helps the 4 as well.
