Cucumber and Basil in a lemonade? It doesn’t get more refreshing than this! Using a few easy and delicious ingredients, you can enjoy the tastiest lemonade this summer!
Ingredients:
– 10 Ripe lemons
– 1 English Cucumber
– 1 Bunch of basil (2 cups)
– 3 Cups of water
– 2 Cups of sugar
Lemonade Ratio:
**Using a 80oz pitcher**
– 2 Cups of fresh lemon juice
– 4 Cups of cucumber basil simple syrup
– 2 1/4 Cups of water
Directions:
– First scrub and clean lemons. After cleaning lemons, fill a pot up with water bring to a boil. Blanch lemons for 20 second, then remove and place in ice water, also for 20 seconds, to shock the lemons and stop any cooking
– Pat lemons dry, and using a vegetable peeler, peel the zest
– Cut lemons in half
– Grab a mesh strainer, citrus juicer and mixing bowl and juice lemons. 10 lemons should produce 2 cups of juice
– Once lemons are juiced, quarter and cut your cucumber and pick your basil
– Now for simple syrup, add water, lemon zest and cucumber and simmer for 10 minutes
– Next add sugar and basil and simmer for another 10-15 minutes
– After 10 minutes, remove pot with ingredients from heat and allow to cool down fully
– Once syrup has cooled down, remove half of the lemon peels and add simple syrup to a blender and blend on high; if it takes two batches, that’s fine
– Using a mesh strainer and bowl again, strain flavored syrup separating the pulp from syrup
– In a pitcher, add your 2 cups of lemon juice, 4 cups of Cucumber Basil simple syrup and 2 1/4 cups of water, add and give lemonade a good mix
– Serve over ice and enjoy your lemonade on a hot summers day!

– Feel free to add or alter Lemonade ratio to your liking
– Fresh lemon juice is always preferred, but if all you have is store bought, it will work

[Music] Let’s make some cucumber basil lemonade. First, as always, is clean and blanch our lemons for 20 seconds. Remove from ice water after another 20 seconds and allow to dry. Next, we peel the lemon zest, cut the lemons in half, and juice into a mixing bowl. For our simple syrup, add water, cucumbers, lemon zest, and simmer on medium low heat. After 10 minutes, we add basil and sugar and cook down until sugar is completely dissolved. As always, the exact ingredient amounts can be found in the description. Next, we add our simple syrup to a blender and blend on high. Next, pour simple syrup to a fine mesh strainer and separate pulp from syrup. Look at that beautiful deep green color. Let’s assemble our cucumber basil lemonade. In a picture, add lemon juice, cucumber basil syrup, water, ice, and give a good mix. Now, serve in your largest glass and enjoy.
