IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. (WLUC) – A celebration of history and culture returns to Upper Michigan Aug. 9.
Iron Mountain’s Italian Fest kicks off Saturday.
From noon to 11 p.m. central time, you can check out local Italian food, live music and inflatables for kids.
Attendance is $10 per person, or free for children 12 and under.
Iron Mountain DDA Event Coordinator Katherine Mentel says attendees can learn about the deep Italian heritage of the city.
“It’s the Sassoferrato Sister City Exhibit,” Mentel said. “Sassoferrato is Iron Mountain’s sister city in Italy. We have Albert Santoni who sets that up and he’ll be able to explain kind of the cultural connection to Iron Mountain.”
Italian Fest is the longest running festival in downtown Iron Mountain at 18 years and counting.
