Hey all,
Here is my first loaf from my sourdough starter! It’s around 9 days old. How do you think i’m doing? it was my first time using a dutch oven, so i think i could’ve let it go a bit longer to get a darker colour/crispier crust, but i actually enjoyed the thinner crust with a nice chew.
I’m just not sure if my crumb is any good? I know that bubbles towards the top, i think means over fermented? But a few tunnels too. Overall, very happy with my first proper loaf!
100g Starter
315g Water
385g Bread Flour
50g Whole Wheat Flour
10g salt
Mixed everything together, bulk proofed for around 5 hours, originally dough was around 77 but in a hotter area towards the end at around 80 and i really started to see it grow.
i shaped and placed straight into a banneton basket and let proof on the counter for around 2 hours. I should’ve proofed overnight in the fridge but i was too impatient!
Happy baking

I folded around 4 times every 30 minutes at the start of the bulk proof!
Hmmm not great, send it my way and I’ll dispose of it for you
Ha ha 🤣
Lovely loaf!!
That’s good for a cheese toasty 😀
