Visited Los Angeles from Portland. Only mentioning this fact because Matt’s BBQ is my go to for years, before the texas monthly write ups. We have some really good food considering how small it is for a big city, along with all the options available. Should mention, I love Texas style BBQ where brisket is king and should be salt and pepper, never been to Texas to try but I think Matt’s does it really well.
This was #1 on my list to try, along with Rays BBQ but the sides at moos are what pushed the needle that way. Thought it was mid. Good but not OMG I’m coming back for this. I love good food and BBQ especially. Expected more flavor. Lacked on the seasoning a little and super disappointing on the smoke, that should be first thing coming thru regardless. Same thing with ribs, lacked smoke flavor. Sausage was actually really good. Side was Mac n cheese and that was really good too. Just my 2cents 🫶🏽 any thought? What was your experience?
