GRAND RAPIDS, MI — Meijer has recalled 12 different varieties of premade salads as part of a broader Revolution Farms lettuce recall which includes lettuce used in premade salads sold by Meijer. According to the Food and Drug Administration, the recall revolves around possible Listeria contamination in the salads which can lead to illness among those who consume the product.

The following packages of premade Meijer salads have been recalled regardless of their sell by date:

Fresh From Meijer Cranberry Spinach Shareable Salad (12 oz.)Fresh From Meijer Salad Bowl Spinach Dijon Salad (6.15 oz.)Fresh From Meijer Tomato Caprese Salad (6 oz.)Fresh From Meijer Avocado Chicken Bacon Ranch Salad (8 oz.)Fresh From Meijer Mediterranean Salad (6.5 oz.)Fresh From Meijer Shareable Garden Salad (11.5 oz.)Fresh From Meijer Michigan Harvest Salad (6.7 oz.)Fresh From Meijer Chicken BLT Salad (8.2 oz.)Fresh From Meijer Cobb Salad (8.8 oz.)Fresh From Meijer Chicken Caesar Shareable Salad (10 oz.)Fresh From Meijer Chicken Caesar Salad (6.4 oz.)Fresh From Meijer Southwest Chicken Salad (8.8 oz.)

The salads were sold in clear, plastic containers and feature a sticker that reads “Fresh From Meijer” on the package.

If you have purchased one of the recalled salads, who are asked to throw it away immediately and contact your local Meijer to request a refund. You can also contact Meijer at 1-800-543-3704 from 7:00 a.m. – 1:00 a.m. (EDT) daily.

Meijer says it is not aware of any illnesses caused by the salads. The recalled salads were distributed and sold in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky and Wisconsin.

Although no illnesses have been reported, Listeria monocytogenes can be harmful to people, especially the elderly, young children, and those with weakened immune systems. Symptoms include high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women, the FDA reports.
