    The label says mutton. Sheep over one year of age. You win.

    Depending on country of origin, mutton can refer to either mature sheep or goat.

    I’ve read people say mutton is wild sheep. I have 0 knowledge in the matter, but curious for an answer.

    Also rule of thumb: Lamb 6-12 months
    Hogget 1-2 years
    Mutton 3 years+
