NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Gianna announced a new “culinary journey through Italy” with its Wine Dinner Series, which kicks off on Wednesday, Aug. 13. The three-part series, shares the team, will celebrate the country’s most beloved regions, flavors and stories. Each evening features a thoughtfully crafted four-course menu paired with regional wines that bring each destination to life.
The first dinner in the series features the vibrant flavors of Sicily on Wednesday, Aug. 13, followed by the richness of Emilia-Romagna on Wednesday, Sept. 10. The third dinner, highlighting the refined cuisine of Piedmont, takes place on Wednesday, Oct. 8. Each night’s menu is paired with curated wines that deepen the regional experience, with courses designed to capture the heart and heritage of Italy’s culinary landscape.
Chef de Cuisine Justin Koslowsky has crafted a Sicilian menu that reflects the island’s rich history and diverse influences. The evening will begin with several antipasti, including insalata di calamari, panelle, sfincione, and soppressata, paired with Murgo Brut Rose Metodo Classico 2021. The primo course features Sicilian short rib and anchovy salad, arancini al ragu, and grilled swordfish spiedini with capellini bordelaise, accompanied by Arianna Occhipinti SP68 Bianco 2024. The Secondo course is grilled lamb chops served with eggplant caponata and oven-roasted Jimmy Nardello peppers with Arianna Occhipinti II Frappato 2022. Link Restaurant Group Executive Pastry Chef Maggie Scales will create a cassata which is a rum soaked sponge cake with ricotta cream, toasted pistachios and amarena cherries served with Marco de Bartoli “Vigna la Miccia” Marsala Superiore Oro Riserva.
