Only 3rd or 4th time making tri-tip. Slowly preferring this over ribeyes.
Only been grilling for couple of years, mainly ribeyes and NY strips, but I love tri-tip. Wife likes it medium and I like mine medium rare. Wife got it her way this time. 😂

For the price, certainly. I can still get trimmed tri tip for 5$/lb occasionally. Haven’t seen ribeye go below 9 in years.

Cooked and cut right tri tip is amazing lol.

The plus side with tri tip is that you can and usually do have both medium and medium rare. It thins as it moves towards the tip.
