Golden, flaky puff pastry filled with jam and cream cheese, then drizzled with a maple vanilla bean bourbon glaze.
Trust me—Pop-Tarts could never.
Ingredients:• 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed• 8 oz cream cheese, softened• 2–4 tbsp heavy cream• 1/4 cup powdered sugar• 1 tsp vanilla extract• 2/3 cup jam (cherry, strawberry, blueberry—mix or match!)• 1 egg + 1 tbsp water (egg wash)• Turbinado sugar for sprinkling
Maple Bourbon Glaze:• 1 cup powdered sugar• 1 tbsp maple syrup• 1 tsp bourbon vanilla bean paste• 2 tbsp heavy cream or milk
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment.
2. Cut each puff pastry sheet into 6 rectangles (12 total).
3. Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and cream until smooth.
4. Spread jam on 6 rectangles, then top with cream cheese mixture.
5. Place a second rectangle on top of each, press edges to seal, crimp with a fork.
6. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle turbinado sugar.
7. Bake 20 minutes until golden brown.
8. Mix glaze ingredients and drizzle over warm strudels.

These are my homemade toaster strudles. Perfectly crisp, golden on the outside, and bursting with strawberry, cherry, and blueberry jam. Because I clearly have commitment issues. I started with the cream cheese filling, cream cheese, powdered sugar, a splash of cream, and vanilla. Easy. Cut my puff pastry into rectangles. Don’t stress. It doesn’t have to be perfect. We’re going for delicious, not geometry. Jam goes down first. Strawberry, cherry, and blueberry. Then topped it with that dreamy cream cheese filling. Seal them up. Egg wash. Sprinkle with turbineo sugar for that sparkle and crunch. Bake until puffed and golden.
