Dear Peppers, I never used to believe your letters, but my very first crop of jalapeños started turning red.

My experience is that they will over ripen to red.

They will always turn red eventually, the flavor and spice level changes. Personally I wouldn’t wait too long after it turns red to harvest.

Awwww…how sweet of you to address your post directly to me. You made my day! So glad your jalapeños are 🌶🌶🌶!!!

  5. Had some go red this week and after trying them, I don’t think I’ll pick another green one. Flavor was amazing with the sweetness at the beginning.

  6. Almost every pepper turns red when it is ripe.

Red is good. Poor saps like me, who can’t get their hands on red jalapenos/serranos, envy you.

After growing jalapenos for the first time and trying them once they got red I really have no idea why green jalapeños are so standard. The red is so much more flavorful. Now I let them all go red

I know I’m not the only one thinking this…How many months did it take ?😂

Yea but once they get red, they get mushy quickly, I pick and cook with them at all different stages of growth, but that’s just me
