I had to grab lunch at a local market in the town I was working in and this was the only option for some heat. Not that hot. But I never tried it. Franks is always my “ketchup” in the fridge. This will replace the original.

There’s a real mismatch between the name and heat level with this one. It’s hilarious, in a way, that “red hot xtra hot” is one of the least hot sauces on the market. Also, the salt level is “kidney stones speedrun”.

It tast good, just a little tinkle feeling if you don’t want to go to hot. Also the visitors that want a bit spice this one is nice for the.
But it’s true that extra hot is not really hot. Good marketing.

Its good heat. I just wish Franks wasn’t such a sodium bomb. Makes me thirsty for the rest of the day.

This one’s pretty decent. But my favorite of the “slightly spicier standard” sauces is Louisiana Hotter. Probably Cholula Extra Hot in 2nd place, then Frank’s Xtra Hot.
Not a huge fan of Texas Pete Hotter, and I haven’t found Crystal extra hot locally to try.

People in here saying the sodium is high aren’t wrong, but it’s about even with or better than some (Louisiana) of the other “table sauces” I’m looking at. So it’s not a red hot problem.

I have one use for this sauce, and one use only! It is a critical ingredient in my beef jerky/venison jerky marinade. It doesn’t thrill me on its own, but it helps with the spice and salt content in my jerky.
