THE first meeting of the new Inner Wheel was held at Della Casa Italian restaurant and president Anne-Marie welcomed everyone to this unusual beginning which proved to be a relaxed and enjoyable gathering.
Unusual because at the moment we are homeless having sadly had to leave our much-loved venue at The Oak.
The executive are, however, working hard to find a luncheon meeting venue and believe that by September this will be sorted, which is when we will be going through our programme for the year.
In the meantime, our officers will be going to the district assembly meeting and some members will attend the summer rally luncheon where they get the chance to meet up with all the other clubs in District 10 and hear a presentation by the new association president.
There will be a new venue for the association conference next year when we sample the delights of Llandudno as well as all that this occasion has to offer.
Our summer outing will be a visit organised by member Maeve Aldridge to the Kitchen Garden at Berkeley Castle along with partners and invited guests, which promises to be an enjoyable occasion.
Looking ahead, we know that there is already one fundraising event on the cards which is our popular Kick Start Christmas held in early December when no doubt the weather will be rather cooler than the 30+ temperatures of late.
