Westchester is often overshadowed by its neighbors, sandwiched between New York City and the Hudson Valley, but there’s a lot to do and see in the sprawling county chock-full of cute towns along the Hudson River and Long Island Sound and further inland. And even better, there’s a lot to eat and drink for those who live here and those who want to visit — it is easily accessible by the Metro-North, after all. Yes, everyone knows about Blue Hill at Stone Barns, but there’s more to explore in the county, from stellar delis slinging chicken cutlet sandwiches, superb Croatian fare, and hearty Italian pastas.

For this update: We’ve added Mona Lisa Salumeria, Dubrovnik Restaurant, Augustine’s Salumeria, Oko Kitchen, Don Carvajal Cafe, Qosqo Inka Peruvian Restaurant, and Candlelight Inn. And this time, we’ve removed Purdy’s Farmer & the Fish, The Inn at Pound Ridge by Jean-Georges, Crabtree’s Kittle House Restaurant & Inn, Mariachi Mexico (which closed), Burrata, and the Restaurant at Kanopi for now.
