DOZENS GATHERED AT THE BUDDHIST CHURCH OF SACRAMENTO FOR THE 79TH ANNUAL JAPANESE FOOD AND CULTURAL BAZAAR. THE EVENT FEATURES HOMEMADE SUSHI NOODLES AND JAPANESE PASTRIES. THERE’S ALSO LIVE MUSIC, ALONG WITH GAMES AND PRIZES FOR CHILDREN. ALL PROCEEDS FROM THIS ANNUAL EVENT BENEFIT THE BUDDHIST CHURCH OF SACRAMENTO AND ITS AFFILIATED ORGANIZATIONS, INCLUDING YOUTH BASKETBALL TEAMS, GIRL SCOUTS, BOY SCOUTS, AND THE JAPANESE LANGUAGE SCHOOL. IT’S NOT JUST ABOUT THE FUNDRAISING, RIGHT? IT’S ABOUT THE COMMUNITY COMING TOGETHER TO WORK AND VOLUNTEER SIDE BY SIDE. AND THE COMMUNITY MEMBERS THAT ARE ABLE TO ENJOY THE EVENT. SO IT ABSOLUTELY CREATES PUBLIC AWARENESS. IT’S DEFINITELY A COMMUNITY. EVERYBODY THAT LIVES IN THE AREA, THEY’RE USED TO SEEING THE BILLOWS OF SMOKE RISE UP FROM THE CHICKEN TERIYAKI PIT.
