Whether classic characters like Cinderella, Snow White and Aurora, millennial childhood icons like Ariel, Belle and Jasmine, or newer favorites like Moana, Tiana and Rapunzel, there’s no question that people love the Disney Princesses. Not only do guests at Disney Parks around the world go to Disney Princess dining experiences, wait for character meet-and-greets and line up for their themed attractions in droves, but wannabe royals even don lookalike dresses, dream up creative DisneyBounding outfits and get regal makeovers at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique so they can look like them.
They’re so popular, in fact, that Disney decided to create an entire unofficial holiday around them called World Princess Week. But just what is World Princess Week? This regal celebration takes place for one week in August—from August 20 to 26 in 2023—paying tribute to not only Disney’s leading ladies and their indomitable spirits but also the everyday princesses (like me and you!) who courageously live out their dreams and let love and compassion reign—just like the Disney Princesses themselves. That’s right, you don’t need a tiara, a fancy dress, a handsome prince or a movie inspired by you to be a princess at heart (although it certainly can’t hurt).

Inside the parks, there are princess-y activities like crafts and dance parties, special showings of Disney Princess films during Movies Under the Stars at the Disney resorts and celebratory events to mark the occasion. Of course, as this is Disney we’re talking about, there are also a bunch of royally good princess-inspired treats and dining experiences available during World Princess Week and the rest of August to help you party like a princess in the most delicious way possible.
