To make Mutated Food in Grow a Garden for the Connoisseur Food Reviews, you need to use mutated plants in the cooking pot. The more mutations on your ingredients, the higher the chance you’ll have of getting mutated food.
Including plants that don’t have a mutation in your recipe doesn’t reduce your chance of getting mutated food, but the more mutated food you have, the higher the mutation % meter. You can check the chance you’ll get a mutated food by looking at the thermometer on the right side of the cooking pot. It shows the mutation percentage even after you’ve begun cooking.
Here’s the known percentage per mutation on one item you’ll get based on our tests:
Plant with 1 Mutation = 20% Plant with 2 Mutations = 36% Plant with 3 Mutations = 49% Plant with 4 Mutations = 59% Plant with 5 Mutations = 74% Plant with 6 Mutations = 74% Plant with 7 Mutations = 79% Plant with 8 Mutations = 83% Plant with 9 Mutations = 87% Plant with 10 Mutations = 89%
You’re guaranteed mutated food if the mutation percentage chance thermometer hits the green bar. The percentage number also turns green:
Again, the more items with mutations you add, the higher the percentage chance you’ll cook a mutated food. You’ll know you got a mutated food if you get the following message when you collect the food:
“Lucky cook! One of your mutations carried over to your food!”
There’s a higher chance your mutations carry over during the Kitchen Storm event. The higher the storm level, the better your chances!
The applied mutations will prepend the name of the food in your inventory. After you have your mutated food, give it to the Food Connoisseur. They’ll taste your food and then give you a choice between three items as a reward.
