What to do with molcajete with deep hole?

I recently got a molcajete with a very deep hole in it (1 inch). Clearly not functional and not a normal sized divot.

It has been refunded without a return. What would you do with such a molcajete? I though about trying to grind it out, but it's big enough that I would basically have to reshape the whole bowl, and I'm sure I don't have the skill for that (and the tools would cost more than a new molcajete.)

Any ideas more creative than a flower pot?
