Looks like strip steaks, I’d say this is a good deal for 6.99/lb. Cook it as a steak and it should be great.

Those are not ribs lol, they look like NY strips.
That said.. I paid $20/lb for NY strips last night, so you made out like a bandit.

I believe these are Denver steaks., it comes from the chuck roll. They have some marbling and can be cooked like any other steaks or browned and braised like a short rib would be.
GamerExecChef
Maybe they are just the rib meat cut off the bone? Hard to say, but I certainly dont think those are any cut I am familiar with. In any case, you could take one, cut it into quarters, try cooking one like a steak, another smoked, one braised and a think preparation and see which you like best.

I’ve got to dissent from popular opinion. I think that those are ribeyes. I think that they’re over-trimmed though. I don’t agree with Denvers, the muscle on these are evident in groups. Chuck doesn’t do this. Too much marbling for strips. I think that the little nubs on the left are what’s left of the caps.
I cut meat for a couple of years but that was a long time ago. I could be wrong.

These are boneless chuck short ribs. As others said it is the same cut of meat as the denver steak, just not the whole piece. I get these as a by product at my job when we cut chuck eye steaks.

Don’t ask questions. The wife is always right, even if the question was different than the one you thought you asked.

They look alright. Season to your liking and throw them on the grill.
They called them ribs to get away with charging $7/lb for them! If they left the parent cut whole, I wouldn’t pay more than $4.99/lb for choice grade (or $5.99lb for prime), as this is what I normally pay.
I’d use this for chili, beef tips and rice, stew, anything but grilling as steaks or traditional ribs.

Mislabeled. They are NY Strip 🥩
Rpg4_Damn_Days
Definitely a mid grade steak – not to shabby for $6 a lb

Those are ribeyes. Someone mislabeled them.

The non-marketing term for these are Chuck Flap. They are amazing when braised, which can def be done in the smoker, a slow smoke will do it just fine as well.

Damn a lot of people in this thread don’t know what a NY strip or a ribeye looks like.
Short answer: not this

Damn. Reading this comment section, along with the down voting, you’d think we were debating on who to back for the next president of the US.
