Food Lion will have some good steaks on occasion and I always make it a point to stop and look at what’s on the shelf. A lot of cuts are thinner and not very good looking, but there are some decent cuts to be had. Had some dry-aged strips (from Lowe’s) this past weekend and plan to get a prime packer to age myself sometime, but my office is 35 miles from my house now and hard to run to the store during work hours and I’m rarely going anywhere after work except home, but that’s another story.

Not sure if this sub needs a comment for an automod, but here you go. And, I made the mistake of telling my wife that I got her a steak under the condition she comes to the lake to eat it. She said she will cook it at home because she’s not going back til Labor Day.

If you are getting pre-cut steaks it’s probably not the best price. The cheapest way is probably finding the butcher and asking for a whole primal cut and then dress and portion for freezer by yourself. Makes it easier to mealprep and freeze as you mentioned you’re an work & go home type of person.

Considering you can get boneless ribeye on sale for 8-10 per lb (socal) I’d say no

Edit: my dumbass dint see it was on sale for $10 that’s way closer to a good deal than 13.

Its fine, decent deal at 10/lb.

I buy my meat in halves & pay much less for better….but you dont seem to have access to that(or dont want to & thats ok)…for me it makes sense with a family of 6 that eats like 10/12. I could not afford(well, more like I dont want to afford)to buy 8 of those $15 steaks for a $120 at home protein….but again, thats me.

So yes, for your circumstances, these seem lovely & a great buy!!
