when Joe Rogan brought up portabella mushrooms the conversation was very civil with Paul explaining that they have to be cooked at high temperatures and if they are not they could be a problem Joe Rogan asks what is the problem with portabella mushrooms and this prompts an awkward response from Paul stamitz that totally changes the tone of the conversation what are the negative benefit or the negative effects of this this is an explosive uh uh area of conversation and that puts my life in danger

  1. They cause cancer equivalent to a cigarette a day so if you eat a mushroom everyday its equivalent to you smoking a cigarette everyday for every one mushroom its equivalent 2 cigarettes add a worst part is I like so when you stop smoking cigarettes in your lungs start to get better and get all the black tar out mushroom you can't do that and it affects every single part of your body you won't just get cancer in your lungs you can get Cancer anywhere for example if you aim for practice and they've been sitting in your stomach all day and then you must like you will end up with stomach cancer Turner meant to be eating there's a reason we turn them into antibiotics and penicillin just think about it if they're strong enough to kill just about every bacteria and virus on planet Earth what makes you think they're safe enough to eat 🤦🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️💯

  2. It’s the mob. Portobello mushrooms are a big industry out of Italy for La Cosa Nostra and you don’t f’ with the mobs bottom line.

Stamets is just playing it safe and not creating hysteria about it being poisonous. But yeah, cook your Portobellos on high heat.

  3. For anyone wondering, they have a MINUSCULE amount of agaritine in them, usually less than 1mg per gram of mushroom, and agaritine has only ever been shown to be carcinogenic at huge amounts in lab testing on animals. You are completely fine if you cook them, and you are probably also completely fine if you don’t

  4. The reason he said explosive area of conversation is because portobello mushrooms actually have a toxin that is used in jet fuel and explosives. Very clever response

  5. they contain agartine that can by synthesised into hydrazine and go boom – apparently some talk of it being cancer causing aswell but idk if that’s legit

  6. The thing why it got awkward is because he repeated the hint twice and made it extra clear but joe still wasn’t catching on😂😂😂 at some point he was just looking at joe like “bro fr😲”

  7. I think they gave Paul really explosive farts, that could lead to heart failure…but for WHOM?

    AWKWARD!😮

  8. Overreacting mushroom head…. it's trace amounts of said chemical that may have a chemical change into small amount of chemical they use in rocket fuel. Even if you eat them raw(yuck) you would be fine because it's such a micro dose

  9. You literally just prefaced the video with what the original clip already says so that you could make a reel. Stop doing this and be original.

  10. It seems like a controversial topic, he said cook them to high temperatures but I read online that there is some research that the agaritines can break down into a carcinogenic compound when exposed to high heat. I don’t eat these mushrooms so I consider myself immune to this.
