HOUSTON — Collina’s Italian Cafe, a longtime favorite go-to for the River Oaks and West University Place crowds, has been forced to close its Greenway Plaza-area location temporarily after its landlords locked the doors, alleging the restaurant’s owners have been “delinquent” in paying their rent.

A notice posted on the door of the Collina’s location at 3835 Richmond Ave. says the building’s owners at Houston-based Greenberg & Co. have rekeyed the locks on Collina’s doors, adding, “Keys are available upon payment of delinquent rent at the management office.”

Any attempt to enter the space without the landlord’s written consent will be considered trespassing, the notice said.

Efforts to reach Collina’s owners — Lisa and Paul Hill and their daughter Caroline — for comment were not immediately successful.

When reached by telephone, Greenberg & Co. Vice President Stephen Soussan declined to comment on the situation.
