was gifted an older Genesis and trying to clean it up for my son and his buddies who got their first house but are low on cash
body is fine. replaced grates/warm rack/flavorizers/deflectors as they were all really too far gone for me to clean up. it starts fine. the flames seem a decent height. picture is on "high." I don't have anything to compare it to though
it gets up to 450-475 within 8-10 minutes. stalled at about 550 even after 15 minutes. is this a sign that burners need replaced? I mean thats fairly hot. While I haven't had a grill for 2-3 years I too had a 3 burner Weber and it made 700 easy. thoughts? maybe they can just be "cleaned" some? for soot/buildup. can check for blowout spots
anything else to check? thx

Thats how mine look. I have a 2008 Genesis. You could shoot some compressed air to clean out the burners. My grill still can get over 500 degrees
ok good to know. just didn’t know if that was the max temp to expect or something was wrong
forgot that my old Weber was natural gas. maybe that’s why it got so hot. again – it literally got to 700. maybe that’s an anomaly
You likely have a bad regulator. Should be able to get to 650 within 10 min max. They’re easy to change, pretty generic and around $25. My old silver b was acting the same.
