Whether you love Applebees or maybe you’ve never even been to one, there is no denying that their Asian chicken salad was the best thing on their menu before they took it off. So, I’m going to show you how to make it at home. You need two cups of chopped romaine, two cups of iceberg lettuce, two cups of thericcolored kleslaw mix, and one diced scallion. Air fry or bake if you don’t have an air fryer, some breaded crispy chicken strips. Let them cool a little bit, then cut them up into bite-sized pieces. Add in our chopped chicken. Now, we’re going to make the dressing. Half a cup of mayo, 1/4 cup of honey, 2 to 3 tablesp of rice vinegar, 2 tsps of dijon mustard, half a teaspoon of toasted sesame oil, a little bit of coarse salt and pepper. Give it a good mix. Pour that over our salad. We’re just going to mix everything together so that the lettuce and the chicken is fully coated. The full written recipe is on my website at bellyful.net if you want that. Portion it out and then top with some crunchy chowine noodles, sliced almonds, and mandarin oranges. It’s just one of the best salads.

  1. My favorite thing on Applebees menu, before they took it off, was the shrimp and spinach salad. I’ll still ask for it anytime I go (which isn’t often but still) and sometimes they’ll make it for me ❤

  2. Yes, that salad was good. Our Applebee's closed down last year. Another restaurant hasn't opened there yet.

  3. That was absolutely my favorite!!! I used to ask for extra dressing. A waitress told me that they had to make the dressing by hand each time that you order it. She tried to say that it was a difficult recipe to make… LOL, it took all of what 20 seconds to make? The chef came out to bring me my salad dressing and he said that it was no problem making the dressing. Now I see!! Thank you!! I will be making this tonight if I can find the toasted sesame oil!!
    ❤❤❤

  4. You lost me at iceberg lettuce, and then you added the coleslaw mix 🤢, and didn't even get me started on the mustard. I can't even sit next to someone eating mustard. -My version ofan Asian salad is kale, mandarin oranges and PF Chang's Sesame sauce. Topped with a few extra sesame's or poppyseeds. I know I'm major-league picky, but my salad is great!

  5. I literally have NONE of that stuff at the house …. So I would have to shop, cook, prepare, and serve …. If I go to Applebee's I buy, they make and serve and I don't have a bunch of ingredients I will never use.

  6. I worked there for many years. Can't believe they took this off! That dressing was like cr@ck! Would eat it on french fries too. Oh I am so excited to try this ❤this was such a popular order . Really am surprised!

  7. My Sister can't eat anything at Applebee's except their salads, everything else makes her sick. We don't eat there as they have crappy service and their food is lacking. Also our son is a bartender looking for a job and they turned him down because he wouldn't water down the drinks so much!!! He has worked since then at The very prestigious Ritz-Carlton and now is the Boss at an exclusive Community bar, very high -end!

  8. I like that salad. They used to have a salad that included a small steak with chimichurri sauce that was really good. Shoot, they used to serve fajitas that were so good. That was middle 1990s though.
