General comments:
* Solo reservations aren’t available on Tock, need to email the restaurant to get one.
* Resos seem to get released ~ 15d before the new month. Not very hard to book.
* Tasting menu was $195/pp, inclusive of service fee
* $50 deposit/pp which gets taken off the final bill at the restaurant.
Notes on the restaurant:
* Easy to find
* The tasting menu is shown at the beginning of the service.
* It’s a shame they don’t give you a menu to take home though.
* The chairs were pretty comfortable.
* Can get a bit dark/dim in the restaurant during the later service times.
* Candle + dim overhead
* If you want photos w/ less noise I’d recommend earlier service times when it's brighter.
* Clean bathroom
* When I went to the bathroom they only had 2-3 segments of toilet paper left before it ran out. Thankfully I didn’t need to take a shit or else it would’ve been a fun time trying to figure that out.
Notes on the food:
* Really enjoyed the first couple of dishes at the start:
* Oysters & mussels were excellent – the mussels especially in its Japanese-style preparation.
* Tuna & Kohlrabi was another excellent dish to follow up the oysters & mussels.
* Tomatoes & onions dish was easily the favourite dish of the night. The tomatoes were really good on their own but the onions brought it to another level. Easily the best tomato dish I’ve ever had so far.
* Really unfortunate the main herbs they used in the halibut dish were ones I don’t enjoy that much.
* Veal & Lamb was good. Preferred the lamb over the veal.
* Didn’t particularly enjoy the cheese plate.
* Don’t know if it was because of the big hitters at the start but the later half of the savory dishes were a bit disappointing.
* Preferred the raspberry dessert over the apricot tart.
* Sorbet was very cold & fresh which is something I prefer after the savory dishes.
Notes on service:
* More relaxed than other places – doesn’t take 3 paragraphs to explain every single component of a dish. Succinct explanations.
* Little hiccup early on when they served us the 1st course twice (shouldn’t have told them smh)
* Pacing was a bit slow (~ 2.5hrs for 8 dishes)
