Does anyone have any idea what the recipe for this salsa could be? It appears to have some dried chiles but have never been able to replicate it before.

– Which Restaurant, and approximately where?
– What did it taste like?
– Was it spicy or mild?
– Can you identify any of the ingredients (other than dried chiles) on your own that might aide us in figuring out the rest?

Imma say it’s probably
Red tomatoes
Garlic
Looks like diced onion
Cilantro diced
Jalapeños or Serranos for spice most likely de seeded depending on spice level
Dried chilies? If it taste Smokey it’s probably a ancho pepper
If its just spice dried chilies they could be chile de Arbol.
Salt
Lime if you taste any zestiness.
The black seed looking things in the photo could also be a Manzano pepper
Sriracha-Enema
Have you asked them, worst they will say is no?
I jokingly asked for a queso recipe, the owner wrote it down on a cocktail napkin for me. They might just give you the ingredients but it’s a start.

Make sure to add chicken bouillon powder/cube or just a sprinkle of msg. The other big ingredient, at least in my area, is canned chipotle – any recipe missing that isn’t going to taste like restaurant salsa.
