The Texas flood in July 2025 that killed at least 137 people remains on the minds and hearts of many people in Dallas-Fort Worth. After a flurry of chefs offered fundraisers for victims last month, two more North Texas restaurateurs are raising money in August 2025.

“Our team felt a deep responsibility to use Monarch’s table as a place for both healing and action,” said Danny Grant, chef and managing partner of Monarch in downtown Dallas.

“Food has an incredible way of uniting people, and this dinner is our way of raising both funds and hope for recovery.”

Attendees can pay extra for tables near the sky-high windows: $600 for dinner for two, $1,200 for four and $2,000 for eight.

The event was created in part by Grant, the Chicago-based chef who felt compelled to take action after the July 4, 2025, floods in Texas.

He calls Dallas “a second home.”

Dinner includes a sweet corn croquette with prosciutto and Calabrian aioli as a welcome bite. The four-course meal includes Wagyu carpaccio and oysters; tomato-mozzarella gnocchi; antelope; and Mystic chocolate mousse, a dessert beloved at the Hill Country summer camp.

Attendees will be sent home with Tweety Cookies, an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie that was another classic at Camp Mystic.

At the dinner, attendees can bid on silent auction items like a penthouse stay at the Thompson Hotel, autographed Mavericks and Rangers gear, a party for 10 people at sushi restaurant Kessaku and more.

All money raised will support the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country.

Monarch is at 1401 Elm St., Dallas, on the 49th floor. Event is 6-9 p.m. Aug. 25, 2025.
