Today: What is essentially a warm front comes through during the day as winds pick up strength from the south at 5 to 15 mph. It looks to get quite hot with forecast highs raised to the mid and upper 80s north of Highway 20 to the low 90s elsewhere. Dew points push into the low and mid 70s, making for a muggy feel and amplifying the heat index to the mid and upper 90s in the afternoon. Most of us see a partly cloudy sky, but there could be some isolated storms, most likely in the north, which could be strong with gusty winds and small hail.

Tonight: Some of those strong storms north of Highway 20 remain possible into Friday night. Everyone else is partly cloudy. Overnight lows are in the low 70s with high humidity and a south breeze at 5 to 10 mph.

Saturday and Sunday are Storm Track 7 Yellow ALERT DAYS due to the intense heat and humidity pushing the heat index to around 100 to 105°. Dew points are in the mid 70s with highs in the low 90s off of a breezy south or southwest wind. Limit your time outdoors and avoid extended strenuous activities while taking breaks in the shade and AC. Drink plenty of water, even when not thirsty, and NEVER leave kids or pets unattended in the car for any amount of time.

Saturday: It is a very hot and uncomfortable day as we bake under a partly cloudy sky. Storms may again clip our far northern counties overnight.

Sunday: The heat and humidity continues as most of the day is dry. Some isolated storms are possible later in the day.

I hope the rest of your day is a breeze!
