So, something a little bit different from my local wine bar tonight. Still drinking very well after 34 years- strong stuff at 14.5%, but the alcohol level seems to have held the core of the wine together despite the age. Still plenty of ripe fruit, which hasn’t significantly faded- along with the tertiary cigar box/ forest floor notes, makes for quite an interesting wine: best I can come up with is a sort of supercharged aged Bordeaux, as the overall style is definitely French. Not subtle, but none the worse for it.

Good enough for me to buy a second bottle, which in the traditional manner of things will probably be corked.

This is incredibly sought after. There are so few drinkable wines from 91, terrible vintage across Europe.

I’ve had it many times. Try the 91 Seavey!
