So this morning I decided to get a very early start on an important errand, getting some pints of Häagen-Dazs ice cream on sale for $2.49. At the ripe time of 6:59 am, I left my car and entered the closest ShopRite to my home.

I beeline down to the freezer aisle and lo and behold, the entire Haagen-Dazs Halo top talenti section is completely empty. Dismayed but not deterred, I head to customer service and report this as well as requesting someone to look in the back if they have Haagen-Dazs in stock. After a brief phone call, the customer service rep tells me that they moved them to the aisle edge freezer.

I immediately retrace my steps a little further and find the freezer with the pints, and lo and behold, the two priority flavors that are non-negotiable are missing. No rum tres leches, no dulce de leche churro. I take note of the salted brown butter cookie before I shut the freezer door and stroll my empty cart past checkout, hopefully emanating changed my mind vibes instead of shoplifter vibes to the attendants.

Delayed but indifferent, I decided to drive downtown hometown so my flavors could be found. A lengthy 20 minute drive later I arrive just in time to see the deep freezer half empty and the attendant with a pallet to restock. So it kind of worked out that I took some time at the other location first. Digging through layers of vertically stacked pints was annoyingly rewarding when you find the 2 of 2 dulce de leche churro under the sorbet. But it's disappointing because that's the bare minimum I hoped to get. They had nearly all of the flavors and more of the first store at the downtown location. But funny enough, not brown butter cookie for some reason.

Well, I'm having ice cream for breakfast and dinner these days, so hopefully I catch another restock happens on Saturday.
