Diners can now indulge in hand-rolled pastas, dry-aged steaks and coastal cocktails while sitting in Boston’s latest steakhouse that is meant to resemble Italy’s Amalfi Coast.

Capri Italian Steakhouse officially opened in the South End on Monday, July 28. Located right in the heart of SoWa, Capri is just steps from the vibrant weekly Sunday Open Market that runs from May through October.

“We are thrilled to be part of Boston’s South End restaurant scene,” Eric Aulenback, owner of Broadway Restaurant Group said in a press release.

“We’ve always been passionate about building neighborhood restaurants that truly feel like an extension of the community,” he said. “This space gave us a unique opportunity to create something really special for the area. We hope Capri becomes the neighborhood’s favorite place to gather, celebrate, and enjoy an unforgettable dining experience.”

From the same team behind Prima, a praised Italian steakhouse in Charlestown, Capri’s stunning aesthetic is accomplished through design elements such as a 20-foot olive tree in the main dining room and al fresco dining patio that is anchored by an expansive Cabana Bar.

“At Capri, not only did we want to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, but also a space where guests could have a variety of dining experiences under one big umbrella,” a quote from Assembly Design Studio, who designed Capri, reads.

“The space itself is beautiful. It’s a stunning mix of rustic mill and modern industrial. We wanted the design to celebrate the older, more well-seasoned details in the room, while softening some of the more industrial ones. An infusion of warm woods, dramatic velvet curtains, and plush wraparound booths set the tone and hopefully compliment the original brick walls and wood beam ceiling,” the design studio continued.

On the menu, guests will fine an array of Italian-inspired appetizers, salads, pastas, steaks and chops.

Standout dishes include Fusilli al Limone with broccolini, Tortellini Di Mais tossed in a spicy Calabrian butter and Cioppino — local seafood seared and steamed with a tomato lobster broth poured over it. Capri also serves freshly baked bread, charcuterie and larger meals for groups to share.

For cocktails, diners are encouraged to try the Bell Red Pepper Gimlet, Just Peachy Spritz, Strawberry Smash or Paloma 500, which includes tequila watermelon and grapefruit soda.

Dessert options include Torta di Fragole (strawberry cake), Limoncello Profiterole and Raspberry Peach Crostata.

Capri is located at 500 Harrison Ave., Boston and free parking is available after 5 p.m. through validation in the SoWa parking lot.

The restaurant is open for dinner daily from 4-10 p.m. as well as lunch on Saturday and Sunday starting at noon.
