My DBA Mustard Ghost called it quits today. Weathered 35MPH winds during a nasty thunderstorm earlier mid-week but decided a no wind day was enough😂. I was able to harvest and eat one pepper from it earlier this week – some of the peppers will still ripen but super bummed as I was planning to overwinter it after the season.

Not doomed unless you trashed the plant already. It can be taped back together at the break and there’s a chance, with some TLC, that it can heal.

Damn that’s a bummer. It doesn’t look like you had any support. I hope you can tape it back together and keep it alive! It’s currently raining sideways outside where I’m at. I’m about to go check for damage.

My condolences 😞 But at least there is always next year.

I’ve got a nearly 4 foot tall poblano that I’ve had to set back up and reinforce like 3 times now. Still doing fine and making new peppers.

It might sprout from the stump. I’ve had several do that.

I lost a sunset peach scotch bonnet yesterday , snapped at the base. Only one I had of the plant too and the seeds are out of stock

I put tomato cages on all my peppers. I tried to get hubby to put some on his jalapeños but he wouldn’t until we had a windy day that toppled his peppers while mine were fine. Fortunately they just bent and didn’t break. He’s staked them to cattle panels now, they were too big to get the tomato cages over them at that point!

And yeah, we each have our own beds and we “compete!”
